Alumni Spotlight Interview

Cassandra Hall

Alumni are asked to share what they have done since leaving Holy Name and thoughts on what makes our school so special.

Cassandra is one of four siblings who attended Holy Name and whose family remains involved in the community.  After Holy Name, Cassandra graduated from Sumner Academy of Arts & Science.  She is currently in her fourth year of a five year Master's of Architecture program at the University of Kansas.  Cassandra earned acceptance to this selective program directly from high school.  She recently spent a semester studying abroad in Australia at the University of Newcastle in New South Wales.  While abroad she also had the opportunity to travel throughout Thailand.

Cassandra believes the faith formation that she received at Holy Name is with her each day.  She feels strongly that she applies her faith to day to day life; learning to be more patient, understanding, forgiving, and loving.

In terms of academic preparation, Cassandra describes the teachers at Holy Name as effective at working with each student at their individual level.  She highlights the advanced work she completed in middle school, which helped her feel “ahead of the game” in high school.

When reminiscing about what she misses most, Cassandra spoke highly about the faculty and staff and how they helped to create a family-like environment.  She has fond memories of Mrs. Sarah Melgoza, Mr. Mel Reiff, Mrs. Mary Lou Reyes, and Mrs. Liz Alaniz; the latter two for the flavorful meals they prepared for the students.
